Remote Desktop Session would not start

Hi there

A challenging question for you gurus out there. one of my windowXP Pro machines has a problem with its remote desktop service. I am sure it wasn't the firewall.

Everytimes a machine (client) try to connect to it (server) with remote desktop, I saw from the Process Explorer that there were 2 new processes created (csrsss.exe & winlogon.exe) in the server machine but were dropped immediately.

There was no error messages to both client and server sides. From the client side point of view, it feels like the server machine is not responding.

any idea?

thanks in advance!

solution

it said: rdpdd.dll failed to load

and I got it fixed thanks to eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/29345592/rdpdddll-failed-to-load.aspx

You can fix this bug by increasing the size of the session image space via a
registry key. Add the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management]

0x20 == 32 MB

thanks Pcaceit!
