Repairing computer with installation CD

I recently tried installing drivers for a USB sound card I bought. Clearly, the drivers did not install properly and now my computer will not boot properly (even in Safe Mode). I tried following the directions by using the Windows Vista Installation CD which is Service Pack 1. However, I have Service Pack 2 installed on the harddrive...is there any way I can fix this problem without erasing everything off my computer? Thanks in advance.

Go ahead and use the Vista, SP1 disc to repair your copy of Vista. If you get an error or the repair doesn't work, you will have to install Vista fresh and then install all the Vista updates once again... back up all your important data from now on
