Rumor: Microsoft considering acquisition of EA, Valve, or PUBG Corp

I can't imagine Valve selling itself off, especially with the future bringing even more of a reliance on its platform.

What I would like, and I may be alone here, is Valve to sell the rights to some of its games. I'd love L4D3, and with Valve focused on nothing but TF2, DOTA2, and CS:Go, who knows when they'll actually release a new game.

Why did you bring this picture back? I already got tired of seeing this picture...now here it is again.

Buy EA/Origin. Its not possible to create platform which is worse. The only way is up...surely??? :puzzled:

Well surely they wouldn't purchase EA? No offense to EA but they're latest "AAA" games have been a bit rubbish. None of them would make me want to purchase an Xbox just to play them.

Valve haven't made a game in a long while, I'm not sure what Microsoft would be purchasing there?

PUBG Corporation though, I could see that happening.
They have a lot of good IP and it would be great to see a more ethical/consumer focused company running the show.

When I first heard that MS would buy EA, I thought it was a move to save the many fine games developers which EA seems determined to undermine and destroy. If that was one of the outcomes, it may be worth it.

I don't see valve selling. They have had massive growth for the years climbing to over 100m users and hitting over 20m online at once. Considering a few years ago it was 30m users and busy was 5m online. I really don't see Valve selling. Buying EA would make a lot of sense they can take over and merge origin with their store. They get access to all of EA's titles and well EA isn't doing very well. If this merge doesn't happen this year. I do see EA getting bought out in a few years.

Don't underestimate the power of FIFA, Madden NFL, Battlefield Star Wars, Dragon Age and Need for Speed. Imagine all those being exclusive to the Xbox (Or Xbox Play Anywhere).

Please don't let this be true! If you Halo players remember when Microsoft made us "upgrade" to Windows Vista just to play Halo 2??? Imagine Microsoft controlling Steam?

If that happened, Microsoft would get their wish and kill PC gaming for good!

I think that is the point.

EA is often voted one of the worst companies each year. They produce games, then don't care about the adults who buy them.

Microsoft has Windows10 Gaming platform and a new anti-cheat built into their OS. Buying EA mean Origin and it's Catalog. They should buy Steam too...

Making all EA Sports titles a Windows/XBOX exclusive would probably sell a lot of Microsoft stuff and wind a lot of people up.
