Samsung writemaster trouble!

My combo drive is acting weird. I can load and take out disk, when i load the disk I get the green blinking light on the front of the drive, showing its active. The cd doesnt show up in "My computer" though.

Went to device manager in control panel. Got the scary yellow exclamation mark next to the combo drives. Uninstalled drivers, then reinstalled, same problem. Checked all connectiongs, everything is good. I paid 30 usd for this drive.


Should I have just bought a better quality drive?

When you got the exclamation marks in Device manager what did it say the fault was, assuming your still getting the marks that is.

Have you checked the connections to the unit, swapped cables etc etc.

Tsst corp drives, they don't impress me none. (With apologies to Shania Twain).
I've had 3, all with a tad too much personality. The Pioneers work for ME, but they're about $30. bucks too. I think it may be luck of the draw.
