I have a Sata HD and run windows xp. I was wondering if there's a way i could prevent it from showing up in the system tray as "safe hardware removal" (or whatever it's called in english, i run italian version) that is the icon that pops-up when you connect, say, a USB device. Since it's a HD i have no need either to remove it or to see it there in any case. Any clues?

My best guess

It's a Windows notification of some kind.

Can you take a snapshot of this ? I don't think it's your Sata,but a device
waiting to be installed. My Sata HD has no option for this loading OS.

CCT : Info re Nvidia chipsets and S-ata hot plugging in XP:

This is pretty much about it, even if the guy wants to enable the function and i want to disable it:rolleyes: . However it applies to Nvidia chipset drivers, while mine are via. I guess i'm goin to hafta peek in viaarena's forums.
