    Welcome to TechSpot.
If you would like us to check the system for malware, please follow the steps in the Preliminary Virus and Malware Removal thread HERE.

When you have finished, leave the logs for review in your next reply. Paste them into the reply please and it's okay to use more than 1 post if needed.

    Regarding this:
Be sure you only have one antivirus program running and uninstall the others. Multiple AV programs can make a system more vulnerable.

It is strange the the problem persist after a reformat/reinstall. It could be that you put infected files back into the reinstalled system and cause the infection again.

The Windows update problem could be due to malware. But there are also other reasons for failed updates. But the meaning of the code you give is: 0x80072EFE - ERROR_INTERNET_CONNECTION_ABORTED - The connection with the server has been terminated.

How do I reset Windows Update components?>http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941

Please do not use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you, unless I direct you to. Do not use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.
