Second monitor not detected after reinstalling OS

I have a video card that has provided dual monitor support in the past. However, I've just had to reinstall the OS (Win 7 Pro) due to an HD crash. Now the OS does not recognize the second monitor. I have installed the latest drivers for the monitors and for the video card (Asus V9520/TD). The latest driver for this card is for Vista, but having run with 2 monitors in the past I cannot believe this is an issue. Any idea what could cause this problem?

You might well consider that your video card has failed. It is around 7 years old and has served you well, no doubt at all. If the Vista driver doesn't work, which you should try, my guess is the card has at least partially failed.

and d o realize video cards have moved on from the AGP slot? You might need a new motherboard as well.

If the video card has no Windows 7 drivers and it is not Windows 7 compatible, you will need a Windows 7 ready video card. The Aero interface is more demanding than Vista's
