ok, ive just bought a new stick of ram exactly the same as my older stick just a different brand yet it will not work in the second memory stick slot i change them around so the new one is in the 1st slot and the old one in the second slot and it only recognizes the first slot of ram is my motherboard dead or what ??

...Well using a bit of common sense here, does the new RAM work in both DIMM slots alone? Does the old RAM work in both DIMM slots alone?
If they won't work together perhaps they're just incompatible.
