Setting up home network for file transfer

Main pc:

windows 7 ultimate
Broadband internet land line with wireless modem/router

laptop:

windows 7 home edition
exelent internet connection with router/modem


how do i set up network for filtransefer.

You're looking for Print/File Sharing for Vista systems.

btw: As writtent, it appears BOTH systems have direct access to an ISP -- is this so?

Normally we would create a connection to a single ISP like this and use a router to share it
between systems:

ISP .... Modem---Router ---(wired/wireless connections)--- multiple systems

It's setup like this:

Main pc - wireless modem/router - internet
laptop - wireless modem/router - internet

with both these staying the same i also want:

main pc - wireless mode/router - laptop

I had it working for a day but when i tried next day i couldn't do it and i can't remember how i did it. It allowd me to wirelessly transefer music and files through the router/modem to my laptop from pc.

How do i do it again?

Is it a home group i need or a network? it's all confusing to me....

do you have more than one router? this is a major decision point to solve your porblem.
