i used to have 256mb 233mhz ddr, and 40gb 7200 hardisk.
i added 512mb 400mhz ddr and 80gb 7200 hardisk.

my os is win xp.. now, after the upgrade booting is slower and windows takes longer time to start up; programs installed are the same if not less than before.

could it be a compatability problem? any suggestions to speed it up

thanx

Check that you've set the jumper(s) correctly on the new hard disk drive. If it's on the same cable as the old one, it should be set as slave. Also, you might want to set it to use LBA in BIOS instead of automatic settings.
