something wierd happens when i download things.

well if im download a song or something everything that uses the internet will stop working. like i will get signed out of messenger and if i try and click on a link on a website it doesnt load. but when it has finished downloading ill have to wait about 30 seconds and then everything will be fine again.

download how? sound like bitTorent. if you DL via a normal browser action,
this would not (err should not) happen.

well i use bearshare and utorrent. its even worse in utorrent because i have to wait like 10 mins for the net to go back to normal. i mainly use bearshare, thats the program where i have to wait about 30 seconds for everything to work again.

well, these programs just swamp your router and consume all the bandwidth.
your delay is due to the time required to close all connections -- and as you've
seen, it depends upon how the program was written. be happy with the 30secs.
