Soundcard

hi, currently i am using a laptop and the soundcard installed in this computer is Conexant AC-Link Audio. I have plan to buy Altec Lansing V2221 but worry that due to the quality of my computer's soundcard will produce a negative effect on the speakers, such as sound distortion or sound cracking. So does it really affect the speakers ???

Does your sound card support stereo speakers? Try hooking up some el cheapos into the line out jack and play some music, and if it sound ok, then it does. other than that....
I really do not think it will affect the speakers in any way! I have used onboard sound cards for a year now, and I have some 100$ altec lansing speakers as well, and they sound just great. If anything those expensive speakers will only improve the quality of the sound.
