Star Citizen brings in an extra $1 million+ following new trailer, alpha 3.3 release

Tesla has a working product, CIG doesn't :D
They have product: An Alpha currently in 3.3 which is in conformity with crowdfunding concept: pledge for a future product. Either you miss the concept anf act that +700.000 backers did supported it (and growing at every patch) or you are trolling...

Money hole? Check.

Sliding deadlines? Check.

Lawsuits? Check.

Secrecy? Check.

Customers who decry skepticism as foolishness? Check.

It's a scam. The people who've been taken just don't know it yet.
Read up on Kickstarter. There's no guarantees for any product at all. You are investing in an idea. They money is used toward that idea whether it works out or not. People paid a ton of money and the result is a (again) currently-playable game that is absolutely beautiful.

Investment made -check
game creation begun -check

so what's the problem? oh...

lawsuits -all failed
sliding deadlines -perfectly legal as nothing was guaranteed
secrecy -unproven... oh and what company doesn't have secrets?
Customers who decry skepticism as foolishness -means nothing

Even if they stopped developing today, it couldn't be considered a scam. people a$$ hurt does not = a scam.

I'm going to say he's a pretty darn accurate profiler.

As for "Star Citizen" the Magic 8 Ball says:

Ah, Captain, always good for a laugh! :joy:

The number of supporters is over 2,107,000 at the moment.

Your powers of rationalization are impressive.

That's not a product, that's just a tech demo. Call me back in 2025 when CIG will tell you when the "game" comes out of beta..
God SC fans are super defensive about everything. It's like it turned into a religion.

Yes dude, everything is currently empty promises.

Your powers of skepticism are impressive. I'm looking at the proof in the pudding and you are making guesses based on your feelings.

what's known:
-lots of money was paid
-a game is being created
-the game's graphics are miles ahead of competition
-people are unhappy with no official release date

what's guessed at:
-too much money was paid, developers are pocketing it
-the game will never be finished (although it's currently playable)

where am I wrong?

Empty promise like Patch 3.3 bringing OCS with FPS jumping from 15/25 to 60/70? Or a year ahead of roadmap giving most Kickstarter features? Give me more of such empty promises :)

So you've got a tech demo, optimization that shouldn't have taken such a big budget to accomplish and a chart that shows more empty promises with dates that will not be met.
