Suggestions On A .avi .mpeg trimmer/cutter

Hello, all. Would anyone know of a program that will let me select a section of a movie, then just make a copy of that section to a file on my HDD?

I have an .avi movie that is like 833MG in size, but there is really only a section of about 15 mins that I'd like to save out of it. Then I could save it to a CD, and be done with it.

Any suggestions on software that will do what I'm looking for?
