The All-Purpose All-In-One: HP TouchSmart 520 Review

I hate it when companies put together a PC with a powerful CPU, lots of RAM and good disk space, then slap an entry level GPU in there. This could really be a great all in one if the GPU was a little better.

Its a gaming station... After you connect your gaming console to the HDMI in, other than that your not really going to be gaming on a 6450a, especially if its the DDR3 variant of the card.

I think the reviewer lost sight of what this is for.
You won't see family's dishing out that much cash for a PC, simply to have touchscreen.
So you can game a little on it, so what?

This product looks to be for specific use, like an Airport or Hospital.
Again, who the heck would buy one of these for home, get that small of a screen and pay that much money simply for touch ability? Maybe for the elderly...or specific need.

We use Medhost in the Emergency Department here at the hospital and those are all touchscreens, but its also key to also have a keyboard mouse for all types of users logging in and out of various programs/systems.

Some of the newer programs require decent power so the i7 and 6540A are a great combo.
Don't get me wrong I am sure people will buy this for home use but I see a unit like this fulfilling a specific need.

I wont buy any HP products anymore. This is the worst expericence. I bought a PC touchsmart for 1500$ 4 years ago and now I call HP and they say your computer it obsolete and cant be repaired. I was going to pay for repair, but that was not allowed. So simply I am going to throw my computer.
In addition, I made a huge mistake and bought an HP multifunction laser printer and I had the same problem few months ago. This is all because HP is a company that wants people to buy products without taking care of the older ones. They dont care about quality since definitely 4 years is too little for that. I had the worse experience ever on the phone when they told me I will speak to the technicians and waited for 30 minutes and then again said sorry, we couldnt do anything for your product. I will post this on all reviews online maybe will decrease the buyers at least a little bit, but one more thing to add.
NO TO HP

I love mine. We bought it for home use and it is a hit for the whole family including our 2 year old. It works great, and is even better since upgrading to windows 8.
