I'm surprised at your pricing commentary; I picked up the DWF for $645, below what the article cites. Currently on Amazon you can snag one for $650, and I think it's bottomed out at $600. There are also copy-paste errors including calling this WOLED in one sentence.

As for the monitor? It's a nice upgrade for refresh rate and DSC. I would probably pay $150 for those improvements over the already-excellent DWF if I had to repurchase. But at this point I feel like there are enough brightness and longevity updates on the horizon that I would be tempted to wait for the next generation of the tech to get a longer-lasting and more comprehensive solution.

I already have a 34" Alienware and I was hoping they'd upgrade the 38" AW3821DW. How long must I wait for a 4K model? A competitor for the Samsung Neo G7

Really disappointing they're using a gen1 panel. Personally I am actually waiting for a new 34" model which would be better suited for multi purpose. I am using my computer for other than gaming maybe more than 50% of the time, and I want the best clarity regards subpixel layout and coating.
I love the UW format, and my AOC 120hz lcd just will have to do for another 6-12 months, I guess, being 4 years old already. Still looking forward to resting my eyes on some OLED beauty in the future.
