The Sims 4's anti-piracy systems take pixelation to the extreme

Care to elaborate why?

Do I really have to?

If yes, they force you to use the platform if you want to play single player games a platform that has a couple games only, sell you day 0 DLCs for crap, release premium priced bugged games, do I have to continue?

Curious do you like steam?

1. You need steam to play single player games, though you might need origin to to install single player games these can still be launched fine without loading origin.
2. When Steam was released their was only a hand full of Valve games
3. Sadly paid DLC is the thing because retards are willing to pay
4. Yes true atm many of their games are over priced
5. Bugged nah, no different to other millions of games on the market through steam
6. Yes please do

When steam was released the cries from the millions of CS and TFC players that this new system was buggy, and clogging up their system with a buggy interface and they were getting forced to install an online application to play single player half life caused such outrage.

I am not saying Origin is the be all and end all of online game distribution but I saying it's not as bad as people make out. I have been using Steam from day 1, origin and Uplay yes I prefer steam but its taken over a decade to get to where it is now. With origin it is still in its infancy and is a little rough and clunky but to honest its doing its job, game downloads are fast, they keep updated. I also liked how I was able to go through a lot of my back catalogue of cd and dvd games and register them on origin which I wasn't always able to do with steam.

To the guy that said Value released Steam and did it right from the start, no they bloody didn't! Steam was hated, bugged with slow download speeds, connection issues even if you just wanted to play a single player game. Games were getting patches at the most random intervals and then gamers were finding games would no longer launch. Because it was through steam they were getting the patches forced on them. It almost killed the TFC community.

ps no I am not an EA/Origin fan boy I myself do prefer Steam Im just not a sheep.

I am a Steam fan. Since I know nothing of EA/Origin, I have nothing to say. However reading your comment is making EA/Origin a little more enticing.

What are some good EA/Origin titles that Steam doesn't offer? Shoot me a PM if you wish, to keep from further derailing the thread off topic.

Well for as long as I've been using it, its been a great run, with dirt cheap games, good connections, offline mode, etc etc etc.

I did not like Origin first when they pulled their games from other digital distribution sites.

My biggest problem with Origin isn't even related to technical problems. It's that I've established a very large and convenient library of games from many different publishers that is easily accessible from a single interface. I can review, research, purchase, and play all of these games from said UI and sometimes I can even randomly scroll through and quickly click on something to play for a little variety. I've been building my Steam library for a few years now and hope it sticks around for many more years.

Yes, when it launched I hated it. It was horrible and laden with all the problems you mentioned Emex... but over the years it became really convenient and most publishers were fighting to get their titles on Steam because it was instantly available to millions of users with just a click of the mouse. Suddenly EA decides no... we'll make our games which have mostly been available on Steam for the last few years exclusive to our new system, Origin. Sure, we released parts 1 and 2 on Steam, but now if you want part 3 you'll have to switch over to our system. That's like making the next Call of Duty game linux only - how do you think the millions of CoD fanboys will feel about that?... and yes, I'm a Steam fanboy now.

What EA has done is removed the convenience of having all my toys in one toybox and I hate them for it. Strong word, hate is, but it's fairly accurate for describing how I feel. I even own several Origin games and I don't play any of them. Some I own so I feel better about the alternative methods I use to get the same games in my Origin library. Some I have because maybe one day I'll get over it and just start using Origin, but for now it feels unlikely that I'll change.

I'm betting Valve titles are not available on Origin either.

I think you're missing what I'm saying here. Valve games have never been on Origin. It was around and well established before Origin was even in the sack. If Origin had been born and did some things better than Steam then that would be different. Instead there's this new system that I have to watch stumble around and learn to crawl/walk/run simply because EA couldn't agree to Steam's patch management system where all patches would be pushed out via Steam's delivery system.
