The tides have turned: there's been a post-pandemic piracy revival

I have mostly just collected physical media if it was something I truly wanted. I have around 1000 movies on dvd and bluerays all ripped to my plex server to watch whenever I want wherever I want. Same with my 130 CD's, I have always been into DVR and radio recording as well which has gotten me more stuff to watch and listen to, this would prob be piracy but has been a cultural norm in the west for 40+ years now.

I cancelled nutflex, huhu-dilly, disnep, and soon bezos prime because I got sick of paying high prices and on some of them STILL getting ads. I'm not paying for ads. Bring the prices back down and don't do ads and I'll sign up again - pretty simple.

As for music, $10 a month for damn near ALL the music is a decent deal. The music industries "anti piracy efforts" didn't affect me, I still pirated stuff if I wanted to. Most of the time however, I want to support the artists I like by buying their CDs, vinyl records, and digital DRM-less downloads. I will buy if I feel it is worth it.
