Thermal paste dry

Hello good people. I have a silly question. Can thermal paste dry in it's package? I mean the package with which it comes.

Never had any for long enough to say a certain Yes or No but I thin it is unlikely if the top is on securely. If the paste you have is dry it will be useless so you will need to get a freash tube.

Why do you need to know?

I'm just thinking of buying a good paste that I will be using only on 1 Cpu. Thanks for reply.

Go for Arctic Silver 5 it comes in a 3.5gm tube. You will only need a small amount of that and the rest should keep for quite some time.
