"This video is playing on the external display" problem

When I try to play a video on my phone (LG G5) I get this message "This video is playing on the external display" with black screen but I can hear the sound of the video. how do I fix this? thanks

I've found that if you've installed an app to block and/or filter websites, it may not allow you to view any video regardless.
