I haven't been this amazed since Al Gore invented the internet to search for manbearpig. The UK should be focusing on banning manbearpig from their little series of tubes, not porn, as manbearpig is a much bigger, and faster growing threat to little children.

I am responsible for blocking websites that the libraries service provide to the general public. I was told to stop blocking access to porn sites as they infringed on the human rights of the public!

As far as I know they also tried this in China and it didn't work out well. The porn filters ended up blocking searches like "Mickey Mouse" and "Michael Jackson" (well it figures for Michael ).

The internet should not be filtered by the ISP, but the parents are those who should setup website filters or search filters, and I'm really sure that even if the ISP filters it, kids will alway find a way to watch porn if they really want to.

As a kid, my parents always tried different restrictions on the computer, from filters to boot passwords, and eventually I locked them out of the computer.

So imao, good luck Britain. Invest tons of money in filters, but **** your pants when it comes to 3 inches of snow.

Maybe you could buy some plows instead of porn filters....

Maybe I'm too cynical but I just feel that the type of parents that are as uninvolved with their children to not bother to control/monitor their child's use of the internet are likely to be the type to have a "porn" enabled connection anyway....

Hmm..So they ain't rolled it out over all of them then. Their excuse is they are "protecting the children", but when i bought mine instore, they didn't even ask me if i had kids...I suppose i wouldn't have minded, but the lock screws around with other "clean" things on the web, so it has to be taken off anyway (???). I dont see what's wrong with the system we have now. My Dad didn't let me have the net in the house till i was 18, and i turned out ok...Sure, i hate his guts for doing that and i didn't lose my "cherry" till i was 19, but hey, thats life :haha:

It's British government Per, their always bloody at it. All they do is think up more ways of controling it's citizen's, like we're incapable of doing it our selfs.
