I’m confused when people say neon they think of neon signs.

Not some way chips are made. As neon is a chemical element a noble gas used in lighting.

Why even call it neon. Call it some thing else.

Uhh they use LASERS to make chips. Gas LASERS. Neon gas LASERS. As in the noble gas... It's also like the first line of the article..

I actually prefer markers. You know, until the tips start getting dirty and the colors are getting messed up, Why did the yellow tip always turn green? Like, jeez, you'd think they'd know how to make markers that don't blend. Know what, just get me scented ones.

Also, silicon is a metalloid

And I don't know if maybe I'm sniffing these markers too hard, but I can't find anything saying they use sand in producing pure silicon
