Upgrade or full reinstall?

Hey guys,

Just wondering what the pros and cons of a Windows 7 Upgrade are compared to a full Windows 7 reinstall.

I say the pros to an upgrade is that you keep all of your data and software installed and intact. The cons would be a greater chance of having compatibility issues with the already installed software and possible conflicts with the older version of Windows. Upgrade takes up more disk space as well. I guess you could do the upgrade and if you have any issues, format and do a clean install with the upgrade DVD.. Read this

There are pros and cons to each. The primary pro to upgrading, as noted by fastco, is the ability to keep your software intact. You will be able to save your data either way by backing up of course. Personally, however, I would choose a clean install. Simply because it's a fresh start with a clean drive. No hidden files or infections.
