Upgrade to widescreen?

Hi,
I've decided that my 17 inch TFT monitor is a little too small for my needs and I want to upgrade. I've looked at some widescreen TFTs and I like what I see but I have a couple of questions first.

First of all... is this a good monitor?

Secondly... my GFX card is a ATI Radeon X850 XT, but does it support the 1680 x 1050 resolution? Information I've found on this is vague.

Thirdly... I believe that it works on a 16:10 ratio. Since my graphics card is a little old, would I be able to use the 1440 x 900 and 1280 x 800 resolutions for gaming?

It is a good monitor.

It will do 1680x1050 just fine.

Yes, it won't be as sharp as it would at 1680x1050, that is the nature of LCDs though. It will still be good, I have to run some games lower than native (I have a widescreen too) and it still looks fine.

Ah, good good.

Seems like such a good monitor for the price. I need the real estate for developing web applications but I didn't want to lose the ability to game at the same time.

May have to purchase it.
