Upgrade to XP Pro from Home

I just recently got a new notebook with XP home. I have the software to upgrade to XP Pro, but I just moved so I lost the box and all the other info. I believe that my Pro is the full version, not an upgrade.

I did switch the OS before from Home to Pro on another machine but it was over a year ago so I don't remember how to do it...can anyone refresh my memory?

Well if you already have the license for PRO on another computer then you will not be able to put it on your current computer. However if that computer is no longer using that license (ie. dead now) then you might need to contact Microsoft and have them give you another key to use with your new set of hardware.

p.s. If you just want to upgrade all you have to do is stick in the disc while in Windows and choose install. Then just make sure you choose to upgrade and not do a full install as this will erase any information you have on your computer.
