Upgraded video card... performance drop?

He stated around $120 budget and this falls very close to budget (maybe cheaper with some searching). Im just offering a suggestion since it's a great card for the $$.

The only issue is that you failed to ask what his setup is. You send someone out to just "upgrade" and they don't have an adequate psu, like his situation and something gets destroyed they'll just come back crying.

I don't recommend a 550ti as it's a suckers card. I would go with an overclocked 460 or 560. As far as power supplies go I would recommend at least a 650w so you can upgrade/SLI in the future without having to go through this process again. What brand and model is your 450w PSU?

I inquired with no response.

His two threads were merged. I'm guessing you saw one and not the other.

I believe you responded to his second thread on the same subject, in the first post he stated he had a budget, which is why I stated the above about having budgets. He wouldn't be able to stay in budget and get a 460/560 and get a psu.

All good, I just hopes he doesn't upgrade and pop a capacitor in that old psu. Not much he can do with less than 20amps on a 12+ rail.
