Hello all,

Im setting up a computer for a mate of mine from scratch and he specifically asked me to control what the kids do on the system, meaning he doesnt want it filled up with stupid applications like MyspaceIM and HappyDoodleMcPlay game after 5mins... Yes yes i did make that last one up but you get my point.

Other than setting their account types to Limited are there any other applications out there that will further extend Windows XP (Pro) user account features?

Im not quite sure what im actually after other than more options to restrict *stuff*.

They all need limited accounts but he would like one of them to be able to install stuff for his school work. Is there an inbetween account?

The kind of restrictions you get on some network's i suppose im thinking of.

using the Admin Tools, you can see the Local User and Groups.
Clicking upon Groups you will see the set of groups to which a user may be assigned
(and there may be more than just one).

The LOWEST privileges are assigned to Guest, then Users (the Limited Account group).

Adding a user to any other group will ADD privs to that user, eg Power User
can add programs.
