Hi all. I am having problems with my new internet connection. Both AVG and Norton (trial version) have identified a VBS small virus, but neither could do anything about it. After a day or so my internet would cut out sporadically, and now it won't connect at all.
I know for full diagnostics you would all need alot more info than this, however i am wondering whether these two issues would be related? I am following some steps found on this website to address the problem of the VBS, and I am hoping that will help my internet connection.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the information to cure an internet connection problem is all on the internet?:stickout: something to think about.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Download this TOOL. Extract it and run the Noob_kill.

Then, go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
