Video card help

Alright, I have an eMachines T5234 and I was thinking about getting a new graphics card. What I was wondering is if the Radeon HD 2400 would be compatable with it. Also, what other grapics cards might be compatable with this computer, that are also somewhat affordable?

As far as I can tell I have an open PCI-e slot, however I am not sure if it is just PCI-e or PCI-e x16, which most cards seem to be. Some sites say that this computer has a PCI-e x16, but others don't mention it. Help please?

If the PCIe slot you speak of is longer than the PCI slots (The one that your dial-up modem is in) then it has a x16 slot.

The T5234 has an open PCI-E x16 slot, also, the HD2400 should be compatible. You might also want to try the ASUS GeForce 8500GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121094 Note that it takes up two PCI slots because of the fan, but it's worth it for the speed.
