Virus and can't uninstall pc cillin 2000

while offline avast antivirus told me that i had was infected at win32wintool [trj] and to send it to a "chest." my xp professional is running VERY slow and if i do 2 simple tasks it "stops responding."

aol told me that installing 9.0 security edition will fix the computer (does this sound right??) but i must first uninstall all anti virus programs which i did except for the the pc cillin which came with this computer. when i try, i am told that "windows installer could not be accessed" because it is either in safe mode (NOT!) or not installed correctly. i do not know how to fix it and get rid of pc cillin.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Try going to "C:\Program Files" see if you can find a folder of either the software name or the company that made it. Look inside there for an Uninstall.EXE then double click. That is of course if it is not on the Start Menu somewhere.
