Vista and XP ok on same network?

I need to buy another laptop for the home network and I will probably be forced into Vista. Will there be a problem communicating with the XP machines (both XP Pro and 1 home addition)

Not at all!! I have many customer who have a "heterogeneous" network of PCs running different OSes!! It's the communication protocol, IP layer and above, that takes care of the networking, not the OS it's running on.
