so today for some random reason my pc decided to turn the "automatically download windows updates" and downloaded some new stuff, didn't install just downloaded. I went to the window to see what all got downloaded and the window freezes, i've tried rebooting twice, i checked under program features for any recently updates (none) and not sure where to go from here...

the window just sits there, almost totally write like its frozen, can't minimize it or anything...

ideas?

downloaded some new stuff,

Do you know for sure that these are Windows Updates from Microsoft? Unless you can verify what that "stuff" is, I suggest doing a System Restore to date before "updates" downloaded to remove them. Then check for updates through the Windows Update/download site.

IF you do establish the nature of the updates, try installing in Safe Mode:
Boot into Safe Mode
  • Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.
  • Select the Safe Mode option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.

Try installing the updates from there
