Vista says its an "evaluation copy"

I got a free upgrade to Vista with a laptop I bought a year ago. I finally decided to instal it and just above the clock in the tool bar it says evaluation copy. Thats what my beta versions of Vista had(tested it on my desktop this summer). Did I get screwed on the upgrade?

Was the free upgrade from Microsoft themselves or from somewhere else ? In either case I think you should contact Microsoft who will advise on you on how to proceed, maybe you could a proper free copy if you snitch on the company that got you this version.
