Wd5000h1u external he no power

Please help! Never had an issue with this old wd5000h1u-00 external hard drive. Just pulled it out and plugged it in but it will not power up. No click no noise at all. I took the case apart and pulled the hd out of the case (WD 500gb green label) hooked it up to a UGREEN USB 3.0 to SATA III hard drive adapter and plugged it into my laptop and still nothing. The adapter is plugged into the wall outlet as well as the usb on laptop. Tried both USB ports as well. Lots of important data on the hd what can I do?
