Weekend Open Forum: What in-vehicle technology do you use?

It sounds like you asked the wrong market according to the comments.

I do like the warning systems on the new Ford vehicles... the flashing lights and loud beeps safety features seem to help keep my attention on the road while I'm staring at the navigation system in the dash.

Pay attention when you drive people !!! All of these gadgets are way to distracting especially on our highways. I see *****'s playing with something and next thing they are bouncing off of the guardrail. Not only do I have to pay attention to myself these days, I have to watch for *****s playing with their tech toys while driving so I know to get the hell away from them. When your going 120 KM/h and you take your eye of the road for even one second, that could be the end of your life or someone elses.

I love technology and I use it all of them all of the time but put it away while you're driving.

I do not think you should have too much tech in yer car to distract you. I get a bus and usully I have my Smartphone and a pair of headphones. I sometimes watch my journey on google maps using the phones in built GPS and the 3G internets, I am usully listening to the radio.

OnStar FMV

Remote start, GPS, and my iPod are the most frequently used gadgets, but I also have an OnStar FMV that I just purchased about a week ago. I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet, other than setting it up, but I like the idea of having it in case I need it.

Hi Wendig0 - That is so great that you have the OnStar FMV! I do digital work for OnStar and would love to hear about any experiences you have with the mirror. We have a subscriber community site as well, OnStarConnections(dot)com, where you can leave questions or comments about your OnStar service if you ever need to. Look forward to hearing from you!
