Welcome to TechSpot 3.0!

Unfortunately, the side scrolling facebook/twitter/etc. bar doesn't work properly on the older posts. Works great on THIS one but... It's blocking my ability to read older posts. Might want to do a DATE > (this post) from your database before enabling that side-bar.

But I also agree with Kibaruk on that, if I did want to share something, I would and don't need a bar to do it. (Though I stopped using facebook when they changed their privacy practices a few years back)...

The site itself and new logo look great but the comments section is very poor. Straining my eyes to read it and distinguish each comment.

Great job overall though!

Congratulations looks awesome! I've been a regular here since the "3DSpotlight" era and the site and articles are always evolving.

Cheers from México!

Other than the personal drop-down box being to tall for a 1600x900 resolution, I have no complaints so far. The maximized window will not see it all, I have to go full-screen to see the whole drop-down.

All-in-all, good job with the new design guys!

What the heck is this, I now need color filters. At Least the reply box has more features. Damn Windows 8.

Nice layout....not so sure about the logo, it's a little too juvenile. I would rather you guys thrown out a logo concept request to the TechSpot readers.

Very good job guys. I like it a lot but can I make a couple suggestions.
main menu font it looks doll maybe bold font gets more attention to sections.
favicon icon its needs redone it looks bad.
Also I found there are too many aggressive ads scripts sometimes bother me a lot. I mean dont get me wrong I turn of my ad blocker in your site and usually each day I click all the landing page advertisements even I dont interest to their content.
Anyway keep up the good job. thx

The site is looking great. It was refreshing to turn it on this morning to find such a clean layout. Excellent work.

The thing that gets on my nerves is the in text ads. Turn those off and you will have me never using ad-block on your site.

Going with the "flat" fad huh, that's unfortunate. why doesn't anyone in the tech industry have any unique creativity anymore. just like the hipster fad this "flat" business will die slowly and that can't come fast enough

I wonder why the tire industry still makes tires round!? Could this be the basis for your hatred over things that are "flat"?

Take away that garbage left-hand column that follows the page and I'll learn to like it. Seriously, It's annoying the hell out of me. I hate when websites throw the social networking aspect into everything. "share this on facebook and twitter!" No, if it was good enough to share on social networks, I'd do it myself without you asking. That's really one of those things that I just can't tolerate. maybe if it was at the bottom of the page, but it following me around as I read is a big no-no.

Aside from that, I liked the old layout better. There is nothing really wrong with this layout and I'm sure in a few days I wont really notice the difference. Just get ride of that god forsaken left column...

I'm using Firefox and don't see anything following the page. I've even disabled AdBlockPro to see what you are referring to. Everything on the page scrolls for me.

PS - What ever you do, don't try to use IE8 to load TechSpot!
TechSpot on IE8 looks very very bad!

Thank you guys for all the feedback and support. Going live last night with the redesign was just the first big step after 6 months of work, but rest assured we are working on documenting and fixing a few known bugs and others you have reported to us.

I'll post a more detailed response shortly and may even contact some of you directly to see if we can narrow down the bugs you are finding.

VERY IMPORTANT: The social widget is not supposed to follow you across the page but just move next to the news content and then disappear, this is one of the known bugs we are trying to fix ASAP. Chrome doesn't present the issue but Firefox/IE do in different manners.

It's only in the articles that I see it. Considering I spend most of my time reading the articles, most of my time is spent with the social networking bar.

KEEP IT IN ONE PLACE

One other thing I'd like to add is that I can no longer access techspot from my windows phone. The page will load and then crash giving me the error "ieframe.dll/syntax.htm"

I can't figure out what this error is all about.

Just thought I'd mention comments look fine on the iPad but on Firefox on my PC they're not separated and the font size is massive, bigger than that used in the articles at least.

Apart from that I actually really like the redesign so far, and I really don't like windows 8's "metro" interface so for me to say I like what you've done carries some weight, it's one of the rare, well done "modern" designs, strong work guys, strong work :)
