Bioshock, Diablo 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein are some that come to mind. Starcraft Broodwar, C&C Tiberium Sun, Dawn of War series (just played multiplayer in that), Total Annihilation, HL series. Currently still playing Skyrim...
Whatever game I don't finish I watch the story on youtube It's just easier to watch it if you dont have time to play but have time when commuting or at work
I did it for F.E.A.R. 1 & 2, Max Payne 1 & 2, Halo 2.
These are just games you have to know the story, same with other titles you guys are listing. Reminded me of other games I need to watch.
Here comes my huge list - and this is just the games I wish I had finished, not the ones I don't care about:
Alice
Alice: Madness Returns
Assassin's Creed - never got a chance to start the rest of them even though I own them
Batman: Arkham Asylum - never got a chance to start Arkham City even though I own it Battlefield Bad Company 2(finished!)
Bioshock - never got a chance to start Bioshock 2 even though I own it
Bulletstorm
Chrono Trigger
Darksiders
Dead Space - never got a chance to start Dead Space 2 even though I own it
Dragon Age (made it 70 hours in)
Dragon Force
Dragon's Quest VII
Dungeon Seige - never got a chance to start the rest of them even though I own them
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
F.E.A.R. - never got a chance to start the rest of them even though I own them
Fallout 3 - I'm working on this one though... well I'm about to work on it
Fallout New Vegas - I stopped since I hadn't finished F3 yet
FarCry - I think I was near the end
FarCry 2 - I stopped since I hadn't finished FC1 yet
Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 in Japan)
Final Fantasy VII - I kept starting over after disk 1 since Aeris kept passing
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy XIII
Gran Turismo 2 (didn't get as far as I would've liked to)
Grandia
Half Life
Half Life 2 - never got a chance to start the rest of them (ep 1 and 2) even though I own them
Hard Reset - lots of fun for the time I played it
Kane & Lynch 2 - even though I never played K&L1 and I own it I just came into this game too late
Kingdom Hearts
Mass Effect - never got a chance to start Mass Effect 2 even though I own it so I didn't buy ME3
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 4
Panzer Saga
Phantasy Star IV
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - got this at launch and never finished - pretty much the same for most of the following episodes
RAGE - Looks beautiful, I will come back to this one for sure
Resident Evil - I was told that I was at the end when I quit playing it forever
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - I keep starting and then feeling like it's going to consume too much time so I never make it anywhere
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Sunshine
Shank - my save game got corrupted and I didn't feel like working my way to the last act again. This has prevented me buying Shank 2 even though it's been on sale a few times.(I bought Shank 2 anyway - but never installed it.)
Morrowind
Oblivion
Skyrim - I'm working on this slowly because I don't want it to end
Torchlight
Trine
Trine 2
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Zelda Wind Waker
Looking at this list makes me feel like getting older sucks.
Never really thought about it, but I have a surprisingly long list:
Amnesia: Dark Decent - BF3 took over my life right after I started it
Dead Space 2 - Got too low on ammo and couldn't get passed a certain part
F.E.A.R. 2 - Got repetitive
Half-Life 2 - For some reason the game crashed at a certain point so I couldn't play further
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Bought it because I thought it was supposed to be scary, wasn't
MW3 - Did the single player, but I dont think you've really beat the game until you've prestiged at least once. It just wasn't that good of a game.
Most games I've played in my life with a handful of exceptions: Far Cry, Diablo 2, Half-Life, Max Payne, and a few oldies like Doom, Duke3d and Wolf3d.
I was playing as a 12 year old and because I loved VIII so much, I thought IX would be just as great. I got about half way through and got stuck in some sort of puzzle so just left the game and sold it. I keep meaning to buy it again to finish it properly though...
I'll list the ones I never finished because I lost interest:
Oblivion - main story too linear and Oblivion gates are annoying;
Fallout New Vegas - just became bored midway through;
STALKER - all three are just horrible. I bought them because they are loosely based on the iconic sci-fi book I read as a child.
The one I am sorry I finished: Mass Effect 3.
The one I am sad will never get a sequel: Masquerade Bloodlines.
The one one I am positively giddy will get a sequel: Witcher/Witcher 2.
Been so many over the years, but most recently... GT5 and Infamous on PS3, Deus Ex - HR, Star Wars - The Old Republic (I know it's not really finishable being an MMORPG but I said to myself I'd play one characters story through before cancelling but never did), I'm sure there are a heap more but I've found that the evolution of gaming into the online multiplayer/vs creature that it is now means for a lot of single player titles and "Story" modes of multiplayer titles I just can't seem to come back to them to continue.
I never got around to finishing either of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games too.
Hard Reset's another one.
I reached the last boss of Darksiders, but never bothered to finish it. Someday...=P
Far Cry 2 was something I got bored of, of the two times I played it.
Skyrim is something I'm playing slowly, to make sure I get everything I can on the first playthrough. Fat chance of that, right?
