What's wrong with my monitor?

the problem starts when the display turns violet sometimes in my CRT monitor and i figured it out , i just replace a new VGa cable and soldered it to the board and thing goes right but suddenly it wont display and LEd flashing. i have to remove it from the source then plug it in to have a display .

And now i have a problem, im wondering what happen to my monitor because when i start my PC, my monitor's LED keeps flashing and no display but when i remove it from the source then plug it in i hear a 'tick' sound the way CRT monitors should be then it have display. every time i start my pc i keep doing those procedure...removing the monitor's voltage source then i plug it in to have a display...what should i do? what are the thing to be done to make it right?

I have a 22" Hitachi CRT from 2002.

The black levels are amazing, for a CRT it does work. CRT is still a good, yet old, technology.

If you have no problems going LCD they're pretty cheap, and getting cheaper.

If you can deal with dealing with off brand, I know Office Depot had some sort of 21" LCD for $130 a few days ago on their website.
