So my Toshiba laptop with XP has been kind of slow.
I use Adaware,Shredder,Spybot, and have cleaned out stuff with HijackThis.
I also have scanned with AVG, And I update everything all the time.

In the past I took it to Best Buy (cause I had the service contract) and they said I had some viruses that are apparently hard to locate and remove.
Is that possible? Or was he trying to screw me?

He also said that my ram needed to be upgraded. He stated that I need at least 256 M ram to run XP, which surprised me because I thought I ALREADY had 256.

Turns out I only have 240.
The info that came with my computer seems to state that the computer came with 256. What's up with that??
Should I raise hell?

Your laptop has integrated video on the mobo. This uses up memory from the installed RAM. So your video uses 16MB, no wonder it has lousy graphics!
You DO have 256MB, but - 16MB graphics leaves 240MB.

Some viruses or trojans are very hard to remove but not impossible.

Follow these instructions EXACTLY and put HijackThis in e.g C:\Program Files\HJT and NOT in Temp or on the Desktop!.
How to remove Begin2Search/Coolwebsearch and Other Nasties

Then see How to post your Hijackthis log-files as an attachment.

What's a mobo? Are you reffering to the operating systems visual interface when you mentioned graphics?
This thing can't even run powerpoint animation smoothly.
So I just need to update my RAM?

I've actually followed your instructions in the past and was able to clear out some crap. I tried again lately and it doesn't appear to have anything new. I'll try it again and post it.
Thanks
