Which combo protection is best?

I have used (for years now) Avast for virus protection, adaware for adware, and spybot for spyware. I would like to know everybodies opinion to see what they prefer (freeware only) no, paid for versions.

Avast! is nice, Avira is almost as good. I don't like Spybot much, I prefer Spyware Doctor far more. You can get a free non-trial version with real-time protection features via the Google Pack. But paid AVs are far better and worth the money in every way.
