Which Corsair RAM to get

  1. Hey everyone.

I just have a quick question here regarding the RAM upgrade I am getting next weekend. Basically there are two to choose from for me:

    Corsair TWINX 1024MB PC5400 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Memory (2 x 512MB) 4-4-4-12

    Corsair TWINX Dual Channel 1024MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2x512MB) 5-5-5-15

Basically my question is which one would be the better choice? The first one has an OK speed of 667MHz but has timings of 4-4-4-12.

The second one has a faster speed of 800MHz, however the latency is much higher, at 5-5-5-15.

Given these two choices, which would you go for? I personally would go with the lower timings, because I think 5-5-5-15 is too high latency. What do you think?

    Any ideas are appreciated! :D

    Thanks :grinthumb

please read my guide on RAM in the guides forum.

unless you're overclocking, faster ram is a waste of money. And I never recommend overclocking.

For that matter, if your not overclocking, the CORSAIR DDR2667 VS should work fine and is far less expensive.
