Inactive White screen problem

I appear to have the exact same problem as Spot3 in this thread: https://www.techspot.com/community/topics/white-screen-missing-desktop-icons-and-start-menu.190319/

I have Vista 64 bit as well and face the exact same problems. And when I say the exact same, I mean literally the same.

Could anyone help me with this one? I already have the Windows Disc and a flashdrive standby

No help needed anymore, Windows restore did the trick and I'm now following the procedure in said thread as directed from post #4

If no reply follows, consider it solved.
