Windows 7 restore points

I have windows 7 home and want to go to a previous restore point can I save the files to be deleted and the updates to reinstall later.

To the best of my knowledge, files & updates don't get deleted. I think it even says that in the process.

When using system restore, your data files should not be affected but programs, apps or updates that were installed after the restore point will need to be reinstalled. You can't save your apps and updates by copying and pasting. They need to be reinstalled. That said, it is always a good idea to back up important files. In fact, you should back up your data files on a regular basis as a matter of course not just due to special events.

System Restore is just that - - SYSTEM oriented. The restore points ONLY capture drivers and the registry. Changes to Installed Programs is not recorded.
