Hi everyone I hope someone can help my laptop compaq CQ58 has updated with windows8.1 and now my Realtek PCI FE Family Controller has stopped working I can access the wifi but not the LAN does anyone know of a new driver that can be installed or how to make this work again

I would first try and delete that device from device manager and let Windows reinstall it, then reboot for good measure. If that doesn't work there is likely a driver available from Realtek.
