These are the only 2 places ive known it to do this but when i try to go to msconfig as soon as the window comes up it disappears, atleast when ever i try ctr+alt+del i have time to do something if im fast but it doesn't come up with any type of error message it just disappears

Yes, this is a virus that doesn't want you to be able to disable it by going to task manager or msconfig to disable it at startup. Shouldn't be hard to get rid of.

well i tried nortan and it turns out the the virus automaticly closes nortan also so it makes things difficult do you think i should just try other anti virus software ?? or do a total system restore

Look over the instructions for identifying and removing different types of virii. You can find such documentation in the Symantec link.

Boot into safe mode once Norton is installed... This typically prohibits most viruses from doing anything.

Safe mode should get rid of it. Just hit F8 during boot after it posts to access safe mode. Once in there open and run norton and it should get rid of it, as the virus shouldn't load while in safe mode.

sorry it takes me so long to reply but thx to every1 that helped me out. Becuase after i did what u said its gone and i got rid of 27 infected files, so im definatly going to be running nortan along with ad aware on a weekly basis now

thx again
