WINDOWS sound won't play

alright

first off, i have a Linux (Fedora Core 4) partition

and

a Windows XP Home partition

on Linux, my sound works perfectly, didnt have to install anything to make it work.

and i log into my newly reinstalled windows

and everytime i do anything that might require a sound

BEEP

from my actual computer.

so its not my hardware.. what do i do?

EDIT: and ive tried installing CMedia Drivers, which is what windows installed for me

Are all the sound devices recognized in the Device Manager ?

Does anything have a yellow exclamation mark against it ?

Is the C Media device set as the preferred device in the Sounds and Audio control panel ?

Try uninstalling/remove all sound devices in the Device Manager,and then restarting.
If you have a CD with the drivers,use that to re-install.
