Wirelesss connection

Before I went to college and was on their wireless network, I could go to my girlfriends house and just turn on my computer and the wireless would be automatically connected. But now after I'm been to college, I come here and it doesn't connect at all. It comes up with a message saying "Windows could not connect to preferred wireless connection". What could be the problem? I didn't change any settings or anything.

Simple questions first:

Is the wireless connection your girlfriends?
Do you still see in the windows wireless network connnection - your girflriends SSID (network name) as the primary (default connection).

Yes the wireless is at my girlfriends and on my computer when i go to the network connections yes i can see the wireless connection...but it just wont connect.

i think windows is trying to connect to the collage's wifi, since its been set as 1st preference. You'll need to manualy set it or change it by double clicking the little wireless pc icon on your taskbar etc.
