Xbox One wireless controller adapter requires Windows 10

HELLO the guest is here again, MIEKSR I got a workaround to keep the xbox one razer atrox running at windows 10 with the 6-button layout, atleast it works that way and we can keep hoping for a better driver to support all 8 buttons^^ there it is, it took me quite some time to figure it out:

if you connect it, it gets recognised as Xbox gaming device, but you cant use it as a gamecontroller. so you need to right-click it in the device-manager and:
update -driver ->
"search on computer" ->
"chose driver from a list" ->
take the OLDER driver (6.2.11059.0), install that driver, restart the PC, it works again as 6-button-stick!

important: -->(you probably need to manually install the old driver from there to get the option in your device-manager:

I hope this helps some guys out there :)

greetings, toxic :)

Hi toxic,

Thanks for the reply. I jumped on my PC and tried your method right away.

I checked my current driver for my stick and seem to be version 6.2.11059.0 already.

What I opened up my stick and rewired the RT button on the stick to the select button. That way I could map Heavy Kick.

The stick is usable but not the way you would to use it.

Did you also have to remap buttons internally or are you saying that without remapping all the buttons except for LB and LT work normal?

Microsoft is becoming more and more drone. Its no wonder Ive already said F'U to the 8/8.1 and even 10.... Win10 OS - is just like a "Verizon Exclusive" smartphone OS. Forcing bloatcrap, trying to make me pay for services that are already free built in so they lock down the device with a bootloader. Windows is doing the same sh*t only they are giving it away free now, so they can lock you down later (cloud based UEFI activation to continue use) Thats the only reason they pushed Win10 upgrade Free...so you'll have to eventually buy continued service once your digital life is on their signature on their cloud. Im not falling for their bait and switch, ill just do a looky-loo on them do 3rd party drivers and run exploits. Bring back your methodologies of Win98 before its to late. Simple is great thats why Android is gaining PC ground and Windows is showing up late.

oh, your atrox is working at win 10 on default? mine didnt, so I had to create that workaround to even get it working^^. I had to rewire it, too, though

Pathetic excuse of forced obsolescence. Since Mantle has no problem with Win 7 I wanna hear M$ excuse why DX12 is Win 10 only? "Some clever modders will likely be able to get the DX12 working with older operating systems, but at launch, the API will only come with Windows 10." ;-)

I dont think MS has or needs a excuse.
They have a new product to support and a market to push. Had it not been for things like this we would all still be on win98 waiting for others to make the move from windows 1.3.

First decent AAA titles properly utilising it are some two years away. First devs declaring they dropping support for DX11 - right after next generation of consoles coming out, some 5 years from now. First unofficial hacks allowing to use DX12 on Win7/8 - who knows, maybe by the end of this year?

The witcher 3 and Batman arkham knight will be getting upgrades to DX12 soon after win10 launches already. I have never seen support this early like that from the industry outside of MS for any DX release so far.

Thing is DX12 is something developers realy want and I mean Really want. The lead designer of the Frostbite engine went as far as to say that he would prefer to see that next year DX12 would be a minimum requirement for all frostbite games. Honestly, all this tells you how much developers are even more eager for this then gamers themselves this time around.
