XP 64bit

Just a quick question. Will XP 64bit recognize a 200 gig SATA drive or would i need to connect the drive via a controller card? If a controller card is needed what is a good SATA controller card? Thanks.

It will recognize any 200GB drive.

It will also recognize SATA drives, but may require drivers.

ok, thanks for the help. so no controller card needed, just some drivers for the hardrive (possibly). When you say drivers for the drive,just install them like a controller card, meaning hit F6 when installing the OS. thanks again.

Yes, you woudl install by hitting F6 when it asks about if its going to need drivers. Depending on the motherboard you may not need to even do that, I have a K8N-E Deluxe I believe and as long as I don't use the Silicon something SATA spots then I don't need to install the drivers during Windows install.
