So i shut my computer down last night, started it up this morning and everything is in the classic mode, start-up, task bars, ect...

When ya right click on the desk top go to properties then appearance and go to the drop down menu for windows and buttons the only thing listed is "windows classic"

is there any way to fix this, i tried a system restore & no go. Ive done some searching on the net and tried some of the things listed and still no fix.

So i thought id start fresh here and just go through any steps that can be given one by one.

any helped would be greatly appriciated.

Mike,

as stated above ive already tried a restore & that didnt fix it. Also did everything in the link and its all correct.

So on to the next step.

You did mention restore. That is true.
Here is the real solution, nailed on,for sure -
see Joshuacat`s post,HERE :grinthumb

However,if that doesn`t work, you only have the System File
checker (sfc /scannow),a repair install,or a full reinstall left.

try clicking on a blank area of the taskbar then properties then start menu try changing your options from there
